POLL what type of fuel do you use

i just finished a tank of BP ultimate and it was the first time i've used it in my dc5s. i found that it didnt hav the same economy as Shell Optimax, in pretty much the same driving conditions (from home to uni). With optimax i usually get 500km from apprx 42L but with ultimate i got 470km from 48L. also the car felt very sluggish using ultimate.
i def prefer Optimax but everyone seems to use unlimate...i find that odd.
does different types of cars prefer a certain brand of fuel? or is that a stupid question to be asking
p.s i know...this is only based on 1 tank of BP ultimate

used optimax and ultimate before. but found mobil 8000 the best. i got my car tuned on the mobil. tried half a tank of ultimate again and it felt just as good or slightly better than mobil.

Ultimate since its closest to my house

use to use Shell Optimax but was told about them mixing sulphur or something like that to make 98 octane so i went to BP ultimate.
i tried Shell Extreme but did'nt do much diffrent and now staying with the BP
