    Star Craft - B.net

hey guyz... im having problems playin star craft on bnet.... HAHAHAH yes yes, i know, i play such an old out-dated game HAHAHA..... my problem is that i cant stay in a game without dropping out in like 3 seconds... or if i dont drop out in like 3 seconds of game play, ill cause the game to lag like shit to a unbearable point, and then eventually ill drop out... when i play 1v1, im fine, however, when i play say 2v2 or 3v3, then ill cause the game too lag and again, eventually ill drop out.... i was told that port forwarding would fix this problem, so i forward ports 6112... i designated my private port as 6112, made the protocol, "ALL", which is both TCP and UDP and have elected my LAN IP address as the IP address to forward the ports to.... however, after all of this, eveything is still the same... any suggestions besides telling me that "google" is my friend?? thanx heaps!

yeah... ive tried all of the above, and still, i end up dropping out.... my connection speed is 512/256.... i was told that if i bypass my router, and just plug the cable straight into the back of my comp, it would fix the problem.... but problem for me is, my router and model is one unit... so how would i be able to bypass the router??

                hi mate

definitely upgrade ur connection speed then cos im pretti sure that the reason..cos ur opponents mite have they programs on (such msn and limewire) so u can counter this with an upgrade, like me, im now winning 7 out 10 matches instead of losing or drawing (proevolution)

bypass the router thats confusing for me ..so lets hope u come across the techno geek on here..

or just join a computing forums..

Bnet is like an online server you connect to right? Then 512/256 is more than enough. The connection speed would only be a problem if you are the one hosting the server. Have you done a recent spyware/adaware scan? Alot of lag problems in games are caused by them.

Put your computer into a DMZ and give that ago.

try it if it works then you have issues on your firewall, maybe try a port trigger instead of a port forward.

But try dmz if it works you have a firewall problem.

Seems like your router not forwarding ports on the b.net server.
try setting up a port forward on your router
                          try http://www.portforward.com

they have guides to setup different routers and common ports for bnet etc..

                            run > cmd > "ipconfig /all"

copy your "ip address" (eg. 192.168.1.#)
forward ports 6112 tcp and udp to the ip address that comes up

then everything should be good to go. I'm pretty sure thats the port for B.net. IF it doesnt work try emailing B.net with your problem and they can help you. Their Support team is very helpful, as i have used them before!
