    Yeah watch out for matsushita drives. I have had 4 broke down on me where 2 of them coincidently stopped working a week after the warranty had expired....

            yeah I would say get at least 2gb RAM...my lappy has 1 and it still boots slow...

            yes I know it would be too many processes in start up...bt they all seem necessary...

                LOL 1gig ram isnt why your laptop is booting slow.. it has to be all the stuff you have installed.. I bet there heaps of stuff installed..

                get a copy of HijackThis

                And check how many processes your machine is running straight after boot up..

                My clean vista laptop run up instantly.. it's only d2c 1gig..
