hmmm i was going to suggest the canon ixus... 50 for 5mp but it wouldnt be under 300 brand new anyway... so perhaps something cheaper. ive been hearing that pentax cameras arent bad for their price? or u can get those canon powershot ones... u can probably snatch these cameras for under 300 (depending on which model) on ebay but the only worry is probably warranty. not too sure on that one.
