                  Im seriously considering buying from NSW; could comeone please outline the best/safest way to purchase a car from NSW and bring it to VIC. I'm talking in terms of;
                  1.)How do i know if its a written-off/encumberence (similar check to vicroads)?
                  2.)What is the cheapest/best way to check the car if I'm in VIC?
                  3.)Is it best to fly there n pick it up then drive it back or use car transport companies?
                  4.)Is it REALLY worth it buying a car from NSW if I'm in Vic?
                  Sorry to hijack but I've noticed that some members have done it themselves/had mates done it. Could you please help.
                  Thank you and much appreciated.

                      The check to see if its written off/encumbered is REVS.
                      Best thing to do would be get in touch with a local mechanic and see if they can check it over. Check out yellowpages for a list.
                      These days its normally cheaper to fly here and drive back, with transportation prices increasing. But hey, could sore a deal with someone.
                      It is MUCH easier registering a car from NSW to VIC rather then the other way around. My mate has not long done it and NSW laws are much stricter.

                      Hope that helps.

                          You will need to organise your own RWC once the car is in VIC, NSW pink slips do not apply in VIC.
                          Also you also need to pay for a full years rego and when you hand in your NSW they will give u a receipt. You forward this to the RTA and they refund the NSW rego minus a $23 cancellation fee.
