    Hi fellow Honda lovers

    Hi boys and girls,

Moving over to Melbourne soon for work and naturally first thought is that this is the perfect opportunity to get behind the wheel of another Honda!

What models are relatively available around the $10-15k mark? Looking for a daily driver with the odd track sprint (google tells me there's quite often track days?) Own a DC2R and an AP1 over here at home so will probably be keen for something different. A DC5R perhaps? Is my budget reasonable for car prices in the Melbourne area?

    Any advice would be awesome.

You may be able to grab a relatively clean DC5R for 15-16k. If not a a DC2R for sure

Welcome Eddie! You could find an average DC5R for that price here in Melbourne, one that has racked up a few kms. Else if a DC2R would definitely be found in that price range as mentioned by FLippit.

Sounds like DC2R are great bang for buck over there as well. Its tempting since I regularly take mine to the track over here so would probably be a bit more familiar with its characteristics. But then its soooo tempting to get a DC5R or EP3 just because I haven't driven one before too. Do you generally find JDM models around or is it usually AUDM?

Thoughts on FN2R? Don't see too many of them over here so know practically nothing about them. Seems the general consensus is that they're OK for DD duties but rather lacking on the track?

FN2R is just a Jazz on steroids.

We mainly have AUDM DC5R (there are a few JDM) and all our EP3R are JDM goodness

They seem pretty pricey as well so might have to give them a miss completely then. It would seem it's down to EP3 and DC5 then. Normally I would take the DC5 hands down but from what I've read the AUDM version is slightly detuned and have lost its Brembos which makes it a bit tougher to choose.

What's the general rule/law for modifications in Vic? Would want to keep any car I buy fairly stock with maybe only suspension and brake upgrades. Are coilovers legal?

Sweet as. I see that your shop is close to Sandown Racecourse. Will definitely have to check in with you one day when I arrive. Do you guys do pre-inspection checks by any chance?

Do you generally deal with Hondas or do you work on other cars as well? TBH I'm quite keen to get my hands on a GTR or an EVO. Bit over my budget but always been wanting to get behind the wheel of a turbo AWD!
