Hi my names mikey and im new to the honda world. having some interest in cars since i was young encouraged me to learn more about sports cars and all that jazz. Honestly I can say I never saw myself as being a honda owner, didnt like em didnt dislike em, I just preferred the usual nissan etc. Soon after I wrote off my is200 i was stuck with a sh*tbox nissan nx as a get around not knowing what i wanted. being on my red p's i couldnt go turbo/supercharge or 8 bangas.
so i had a restricted choice. s2000's caught my attention and i was on the search for the perfect one for over 6 months!!!! but found none. either over priced or repaired write off. i was over cars... then my mate had hi dc5 type s up for sale. ive been in it just once and i loved it. smooth ride, aweome interior, love the seats, love everything. they were awesome! with him letting it go at a very cheap price plus a genuine mugen lip kit upfitted and unpainted included. i snapped it up and drove it home at 2am. man i was happy. since then ive done a couple minor mods. it was stock as a rock with the kit still not put on (its till at his house and he lives over an hour away :s) on 80xxx.
My favourite thing about my dc5 type s has to be the interior. its simple yet stylish. i love the leather buckets, nicely laid out dash and everything. Interior for me is a big thing because essentially we all spend more time inside the car than outside.
ive had it for two months and here are the little bits n pieces added:
-buddy club n+ coilovers (bought on 5000kms)
-12k xenons
-BBS Le Mans (LM) 18x9 all around +20 offset with falkens at the front and pirelli p zeros on the rears 225/40/18
-aem cold air intake
-basic kicker sub n amp but have my JL complete system collecting dust (honestly dont know why i havent thrown em in)
-cwest front bar (abit iffy on this one)
future plans:
-throw the kit on
-maybe a second set of wheels even though LM's are my fav. probs te37 18x9 18x10
-if im REALLLY keen and do abit more research i might even stretch to throw a turbo in it (i know lots of p platers say this but if i do keep this car for a while... i'd be pretty keen)
-mugen CAI
-70RR full race exhaust
-extractors (hmm so many to choose!)
-oem front bumper
My first mod was the intake, found a decent priced one and snapped it up straight away, wasnt a pain to install and the vtec crossover goes ballistic now. love it. but get over avoiding water puddles since melbourne doesnt have the friendliest weather.
second mod was the rims, which for me is the most important part of the car. in my opinion, there are no other rims that suite any car across the spectrum more than BBS LM's. known for their quality, looks and hefty price, i snapped up a set not long after the intake. these sit perfect with a light guard roll with a baseball bat and a heatgun :P and it looked stunning. i'll put proper pics of the wheels when i have time but they are awesome, i love em! not many people around my area have dc5's let alone dc5's running lm's so it definately turns heads
all the other little mods came here and there as you all know, but when i pack myself some proper cash i'll be hitting up the common exhaust and headers first, then we'll see where it goes!
hope u soo you all around soon, been a member for a while but had problems setting up,thanks to tinkerbell its been fixed :P
