A great achievement was produce by our BYP Civic on Sunday taking out our class and type win with a lap record of 1:19.535
Round 1 of the Supersprint was held @ Oran Park GP with a full field of 100 entrants. As usual there was a wide mix of cars from all sorts of manufacture. The good thing to see is the usual faces from last year (e240) and a few integra's in the supersprint round.
Day started out bad, with some electrical issue causing us to miss the first run. Having said that, the friendly staff at OP allow us a re-run later during the day, so all is not lost.
We had a total of 5 runs, and all runs were very consistant, ranging from 1:19.535 to 1:20.1's.
At the end of the day, we are please with this result. All the hard work and effort from the team has been rewarded with lap times. There is still more heaps in the car as we were lacking braking power all day (brake pads were dead) and sussy setup is just not there yet.
Our closest rival from last year E240 in his Toda/Mfactory civic was 1.6 seconds behind us. We are very happy to be now beating our closest rival as we were always behind them last year with our 1.6l engine. Now with the B20vtec its now a different story as both cars have very similar powerplant
We also got 1 point for being outright which is times against the EVO's, clubmans and the high end quick cars.
Lastly, gota Thank all our supporters and BYP crew for taking time to come down and watch (esp Joker Richie).
Big Thanks to Dave for the awesome Engine package, tune and technical support. All those long night testing different things has definately paid off. This B20vtec is unreal, reving to 9000rpm on the track on stock sleeves, the motor is so strong!!
Big Thanks to Scott and Greg @ Insight Motorsport for the development of the Vipec ECU and Tune. The ECU works a treat, best ECU used so far, far better control of the engine than hondata.
