Perhaps it could've been mugman's l337 driving skillz, hence the bold.

Yes, spring rates aren't too bad but the bumps at OP are at the worst places exaggerating the effect. The braking zone and exit for turn 4, middle of turn 5 and over the dog leg blind crest. I can understand where you're coming from. All the more reason to come back next time.

Ah. I will let Mugsee comment on how much of his improvement was due to tyres and how much was due to him improving his driving.

I wouldn't mind going back to Oran but I definitely need to make some suspension changes beforehand.

Charger R: Did the car feel sluggish accelerating out of corners with the bigger tyre?

            Don't overestimate my ability Sam

Just so that there's no confusion, when I moved from a 235/215 setup to a 255/235 setup, I gained over a second around Winton. I believe there was at least another 0.7+ seconds with the right driving line and if I wasn't so inconsistent in my driving, therefore I believe that a 255/235 setup on a DC5R can work well.

Whats probably of more interest to note from this post-race conversation is that ChargeR's cornering speed seems to be faster than his previous 205/55/16 RE55S setup which should mean quicker lap times, if his staight line speed isn't sacrificed greatly. Until he brings it back to a control track (ie. Winton) its a bit hard to criticise and say that his setup isn't working.

I believe he might be intending to do Winton again with this setup so we can sit tight and wait for results to backup our observations.

PS. Another reason why you might've gone slower at OP with the 255/235 setup is because I shagged the tyres before handing them over to you Sorry guy! I am kidding

Ahhh, I should have clarified. Its was his first time at Oran Park. On the butt-g-meter, ChargeR claimed cornering speeds on the 255/235 setup felt better/faster than his previous RE55S setup, which he last used at Winton.

We'll have to wait and see when he runs the 255/235's at Winton to see if he was lying
