On another note, I have a set of RE55s laying round which will be stretched onto that GTI next time around. Car has also been tuned with 181kW ATW. Next time the big boys wanna bash out a keyboard war I could be dragged out to WP to fill the void. I wanna see if a 1,300kg Golf with relatively few mods can get low 10s. All that stopped it last time was grip. A set of 235/40 R18s will give a massive advantage next time out. Especially if the car diets before it goes out there.

The GTI has forged internals from factory so upping the boost is easy. The stage 3 APR turbo kit runs 28psi with stock internals. This engine is without doubt one of the best I have ever driven.
The biggest handbrake for the car now is traction and an LSD. An AWD version of this car would be amazing, and still very comfortable to drive.Last edited by m0nty; 30-01-09, 07:10 PM.

Had an awesome day...
The weather didnt stop the battle between Perry vs Qball
Was an awesome battle between both parties. There could be only one victor between the two. Ill let them tell the result. To keep the suspense, both beat there Pb's
It was interesting taking my daily driven Ek4 k24 on the track. Not expecting much, anything close to 1:15's and ill be happy. With worn brakes and rotors, the car clocked a pb of 1:12.5.
Ill upload an in-car clip soon..BYP Racing & Developments

Yes!!!! all good fun but some people had to ruin this thread by adding more than what they needed to.
It wasnt too hot today but we ended up chewing through litres upon litres of water just standing around. The day started with suspense, qball almost breaking down into tears realising he left his lock nut back in Sydney! Luckily some quick thinking and some bashing we removed the locking nuts and slapped on his semis for what would lead to an epic challenge!
Both drivers managed to hit new pb's! also good to catch up with some familiar faces ie Dan and Kieren.
All in all a great day out, Bring on the next open day challenge!
Re: 'Ozhonda trackday' isnt so much an 'ozhonda' event, most of the ozhonda people are hard parkers anyway so its just known as a private day that i organise annually for people who know each other to have a fun track battle.LONDA

As the others have said, an AWESOME day out today.
Many many thanks to John and Jimmy for helping me get my lock nut off! lol *slaps own forehead*
I managed to smash my own PB today, from 1.17.2X to a new 1.15.80 so am ecstatic with this result seeing as i was aiming for a mere 1.16.X prior to today with the same setup since July last yr.
With regards to the challenge, well... a big congrats to Perry for successfully beating yours truly.
It was a closely fought contest and at the end of the day, the better driver did win.
I'll let Perry fill you in on his time.
Cant wait to hunt down the next PB and the next "challenge" lol... July 10 awaitsTom says: "Now remember kids, offsets are like women... they are best in their teens."

Good work you guys for beating your PBs and having a great day! Apologies if I added to the drama of the thread/challenge in any way.

Even tho you loss Qball, you still won by bettering your p.b without changing much from last setup. Well done Perry for giving it a go today. You done well and manage a p.b and beat Qball by the smallest of margins.BYP Racing & Developments
