Here is a quick Review of our National Supersprint Weekend @ Eastern Creek
Its was a 2day event which started yesterday. The weather forcast for the weekend wasnt so great with strong winds and the occassional showers didnt help track conditions.
Even with some car issues like clutch dieing (gears not engaging) and mis-firing problem the BYP EG manage a PB of 1:51.6 as recorded on Natsoft.
We did better this time with a 1:51.2 on a personal lap timer in the next session, but we won't argue the Natsoft time of 1:51.6. We kinda achieve what we had in mind for the round but the ultimate goal was trying to get into the 1:50's. We'll try to hit this goal next time out there with a few more aerodynamics mods to the car.
With over 70laps, the tyres (r888) started to deteriate and traction through some corner was an issue.
On the engine side of things, its was just perfect. A 2day event at Eastern Creek was a good test for any sort of engine. Still running the B16a (1600cc) OEM bottom end, it didnt miss a beat over the weekend. It gave a few big motor cars a good run for their money down the straight. The car max the straight at around the 200-205kph mark. Not bad for a B16a ey . The engine withstand an abuse this weekend with more than 70% of the time is full throttle. This goes to show how a well built engine and tuned will perform with both reliablility and performance.
It was also good to see another fellow Honda DC5s (keiran) joining in the fun for the weekend. I believe he better his PB by 6 seconds. Congrats to you Keiran. Good Job!
