0.5 secs....if its 2 or so secs then maybe its worth doing it..but if its less than 1 sec...i don't see the point...plus, not sure for dc5....dc2's rear is light enough as it is...easily spins out...does it really need to get any lighter?? and i mean...after a 1-2 sessions, half the fuel are consumed anyway....so we should all be able to do faster and faster times anyway...its a gd idea...but so much effort... i m just a lazy bum...

Some of you guys have done modifications to reduce the weight of the car. What's the point in weight reduction if all you are doing is adding more weight to it by using petrol.
Plus you do not have to worry about filling up the car again halfway through the track day or on the way home if you bring your own fuel, you can bring your choice of fuel. It's really no effort at all, most servos sell 20L jerry cans.

but he does make a point.....just see whether you wanna to invest $$ for that 0.5-2 sec....See in different motor sport teams invest big $$ just to reduce time......once you reach a point that you can't mod and get more power.....this may be the best way to get better time......I may try it next time tho....lol

My car had a weird fuel surge on the last turn at PI on low tanks. Running half full seemed to cure it. A GTP DC2R had the same problems and that was with a foam filled (baffled) tank. Never had a problem running on low tanks at Winton so you probably can get away with it.

I'm willing to give a low volume petrol thing a go. If problems happen ill just add the whole jerry can back in the tank. But I'm thinking of getting 2 20L Cans. If it does give you 1 second at Winton then its worth it for me. Do what you got to do to beat the S2000s.

It actually did. My times might be slow, but reducing fuel load definitely gave me better lap times.

I will not go out on a PI session with less than half a tank of fuel as I have the same problem too.

The PI thing is weird. Some people have it and other people don’t have it (some of them are quicker than me so I can assume that they are pushing herder or at least as heard as me in that turn). I agree with what you are saying Vtml I just wanted to post up a caution that it may not work at all circuits, especially in the ones with high lateral g turns that go on for a while. I went up to the practise day on Friday and if I can get my spooky handling sorted out and my spongy soft brakes performing better. well then I can start worrying about my lack of power.

Anyway enough with the theory, bring on Sunday!!
