[QLD] Type R cruise

Hey guys.

Attented the Honda cruise with Jeff today... and we thought it would be a good idea to hold another Type R cruise.

There hasn't been one for a while.

I'm not putting my hand up to organise (i can't organise ANYTHING!), but just putting it out there as i didn't get a chance to attend the last one.

So... who's interested... and who is interested in organising??

sorry to say that i am pretty slack these days and sunday is reserved for a massive sleep in since im usually playing out on saturday. but if there's a late start and everyone else is going, i could be persuaded.

i work in random citys on sat nights but fly back to brizzy early sunday mornin so it will have to be a 12pm or later cruise

I don't think I'd be good with this type of thing cos I tend to get lost myself hehe... so unless you want to end up in Perth or something, I don't think I'm fit for the job

I myself don't know the southside to much (and i think most of you live on that side of town)

My input for a cruise is up Mt Nebo, over Mt Glorious and then stopping at the dam thingy on the other side.

This is good for me (and sang) as we live about 10 min away.... but most of you live like 30 min away.

So some people throw in some idea's.... or if you know of a nice place to drive to, post it up.

i know the gold coast mountains really well, i know a good drive from mudgeeraba to murwillumbah(nthern nsw) to the beach, it will take a few hours to do it and lots of fun tight twistys

hey robi... im in for the cruise to mt nebo/mt glourious.. however, id like to add from personal experience, its not all that fun driving at the speed limit around that particular mountain... and if we are to go on a cruise to this destination during the day, we'll encounter local traffic which will prevent us from doing some "spirited" driving.... mayb we could meet up on a saturday night instead, at say around 9ish and go from there? at least this way local traffic at that particular area will be at a minimum and we can have some serious fun... id have to say, a mountain run is easily the next best thing to tracking a car.... umm, however, if this cruise is just to check out scenery, then yeah, i guess a sunday arvo would be good...

I have been up nebo/glourious many a time.... and after one experiance, i don't drive hard up there anymore.

If the cruise was to go up there i would be doing the speed limit .... or trying my hardest to stick to it

I think it just depends what everyone is keen to do.

If you want to have a twistie drive... we'll have to organise something through some mt's. otherwise, if people are keen for a cruise simular to the Honda one from last weekend, ie meet in a central location, take a scenic route (not major twisties) to a final destination, then sit and talk... and most importantly EAT....i'm also cool for that.

I just personally don't think the QLD section of this site have many events (nothing like the guys down south) and i think if we have a few, it would be better.

this is gonna contradict what i said above - and i know its a 'type R' cruise; however would i be able to join if it goes ahead as i'd like to see how my car compares to the R's around the twisties if it's going to be a 'spirited run' cruise

ooh vr6 aye - i may have seen it around sunnybank, does it have euro plates? if it's the one i'm thinking, it's one fine example! yeah bring him along too so i don't feel like an outcast lol
