What: *Honda* Highway cruise
When: Sunday 8th July 2007
Main meet spot: Rooftop carpark of Springwood Ikea THE NEW ONE Please note: if the new Ikea is a no-go because of security, we will meet at the old Ikea.
Time: 8:30am for a 9:30am SHARP departure.
Destination: Cilento Park @ Nambour
Supplies: Petrol, CB radio, camera, money, water, Refidex if you get lost, and some sports gear (soccer ball, cricket bat, footy etc).
Mini Meets
Southside: Grand Plaza @ Browns Plains
(Meet @ 8:00 and leave @ 8:30 to head to Springwood)
Gold Coast: Westfield Shopping Centre @ Helensvale
(Meet @ 8:00 and leave @ 8:30 to head to Springwood)
Northside: BP Service Station @ Burpengary (on the Bruce Highway)
(Meet @ 9:30 and leave with Jason (1.6LTR | Del Sol) to meet the rest on the highway)
Route Details:
From Springwood Ikea get onto the Pacific Motorway and head towards Brisbane.
Take the Gateway Motorway Exit and go through the Gateway Bridge Toll booths ($2.60).
Follow the signs for the Sunshine Coast and get onto the Bruce Highway.
[As we near the BP service station at Burpengary the northsiders will join us on the highway]
Continue along the Bruce Highway and take the Glass House Mountains Road/Beerwah Exit (this is going to be our scenic detour).
Drive along Glass House Mountains Road and get back onto the Bruce Highway (end scenic detour).
Continue along the Bruce Highway and take the Nambour exit (Bli Bli Road).
Drive along Bli Bli Road and turn right onto Spring Myrtle Avenue.
Stop at Cilento Park on the right for lunch, socializing, photos & games (soccer, footy etc).
The cruise ends here, but feel free to organise amongst yourselves what you want to do on the day, whether you want to head to Maroochydore, Brisbane or through the mountains on the way home.
Please take it easy from the toll booths in order for people to catch up. Keep in mind that as not everyone has E-Toll, there will obviously be a wait as each car goes through.
