The idea of a halfway cruise (Canberra?) is good.
But I don't think anyone's that down to drive that far. Only a handful.

Probably start with something like:
- I will travel to a Syd/Melb Meet
- I will only attend a local meet/cruise
- I wish i lived in Syd or Melb
If people are willing to drive that far then it wont matter exactly where its going to be yet
