I like the idea of this being a more technical forum than a 'should I buy 19" chromies with under car neons or 20" chromies?'. On that note I notice that the lounge thread is the first on the list of sub forums?? Maybe it should be reorganised to be:
'Technical'
'Appearance'
'Lounge'
'FS'
i absolutely agree.
"What's the point of racing a car that doesn't look cool?" - Nakai-san, RWB
Jing - it is just the initial *impression* that will be different,
technical has precedence over lounge is i think what FunkyR & I meant...
Yup.....
It's like going to join up to a gym to get fit and having a phat-ass 110kg cow in a tight leotard with plenty of 'overhang' with overgrown armpit hair as your 'personal trainer'
If I saw a 'lounge' thread as the first option and 'technical' later on it'd make me think that this is a social forum rather than a car forum.

This is the interesting thing i notice. The forum has two bunch, the technical elites and the spamawhores. The spammers dont necessary shun technical aspects but obiviously they like to socialise. The forum i thought was a social forum? Its not a refrence car site only, its a place to socialise and talk to friends that many of us know in real life?
Well Events currently reside in Lounge...Maybe move events out of there...
With car related and car-unrelated threads...it would most likely have to go into sub-forums within lounge...and no threads can be created under the main forum of lounge..
so...it would be
- Lounge (Threads cannot be created, only has link to subforum)
-- Car Related
-- Car Unrelated
maybe a general automotive subforum (on the main menu) for the car related stuff?
Tinkerbell end this crap so much opnions its annoying.
Lets create a few templates of the forum layout label them 1-2-3-4-5 and you can create a poll. Run the poll till the end of the week *ed should be back by then*
and i think we can have some sort of faq or archive sticky which is just a single post by tinkerbell with commented links to all the information threads like DIY threads and review threads..
I am against sub sections for dc2 and dc5.. i think the system of putting the model type in the thread title if you are asking a question about a specific model mod worked well and helps keep the subsection count down.

I absolutely agree, we are basically disecting our community in half by doing that, which is basically the strong point of the community inthe first place
One minor thing again and im sure ed can fix this in crsx after u upload the attachment you can img tag it straight away but this forum doenst allow u to do that for some reason.

i was just going to say the same thing.
at the moment, if it has image extensions (eg. jpg, bmp, gif) it works fine, but if there's no extension (attachments, for instance) then it will just display a link instead.
