Benefit of Balancing and Blueprint

Id like to know what the benefits of balancing and blueprinting of an engine are.

In the near future i want to go the B20/with B16 or B18 head and wanted to know whether rebuilding the engine with strong parts as well high lift cams will benefit and be more reliable with a balance and blueprint.

Also if anybody knows where you can get this done and how much it would cost please share

yes its only really for reliability and not outright power..

If you are rebuilding it yourself you will most likily need to take it to a few places as each stores to get all the dofferent things done.

If you getting someone else to rebuild it then make sure u take it to a reputable honda builder..

just a short list of things that needs to be done (most places dont even do this much or as neccessary)..

hone block, line bore block, deck block/head, assemble and balance crank (with attached flywheel, pressure plate and crank pulley).

Most good builds will require strip, build (blanace), strip, build (final)

Other things u can do wilst apart will be, polish crank, knife edge crank, overbore and upgrade to stronger and better components.

Std motor will all parts supplied by you will cost minmuim of 3-5k, 1.5k or so is all for the machine work ..
If you are going to rebuild the motor yourself it and bring it to all the shopps etc with all new seals etc etc.. it should cost under $2k provided you know what you are doing.

B20/b16 Have higher piston speeds than a B16 or B18 so its more important to get a balance. A balanced engine will give a little more power as well(not big amounts). Get lightened flywheel as well cheap up grade if your got the motor out.
