A big part of the benefits experienced by the Mugen intake is due to the usage of a velocity stack that bolts inside the filter. This would be hard to replicate.
A velocity stack on its own is around $100, and finding a decent filter to fit over it would be another $100 or so.
The mugen piece really is quite a high quality piece.
carshop nagano sells for roughly $550-600 (depending on exchange rate)... hopefully my non japanese speaking ass can find the place when i get to japan next month
Seriously why would they make it out of carbon...? Fiberglass is light enough and more than strong enough.... and much cheaper for them to use.
