Well the car comes with strut bars. stock. And to me i feel no chassie flex. My stock shocks and springs feel as hard as a rock. annoying over speed humps and the odd pot hole i hit but handle's great.. With the low center of gravity, the hard suspension. Why would u change it???sigpic

I find that my car sits low enough. Sure the low it is the lower the center of gravity is resulting and better cornering. But it comes to a point of practicality. I find that my car scraps once in a blue moon any lower and i could see my self taking the front bumper off. With all the speed humps and pot holes i wouldn't lower it.sigpic

I found that the stock shocks are actually very well tuned... firm but not uncomfortable
how old are your stock shocks, Karl? They could be approaching their end of life?Honda Integra DC2R natural aspired K20A

Well i only just brought this dc2. Mind you i owned one before for a long time but had 2 sell it due 2 work... But in saying that. i would say there the original's. I feel there's nothing wrong with shock's or springs. Just my front bumper sits low due 2 the jdm conversion. Which i think looks GREAT.sigpic

What i think the suspension on the dc2 R was well thought about before installation. The engineers designed the car for the track. I think you should leave shock's ,springs ect alone and just maintain the beast. Any harder, lower ect would be to impractical for any use other then Track !!sigpic

Installed 25mm Cusco rear sway bar on our dc2r few weeks ago, was going to use it on my eg originally. This bar is approx twice as stiff as the oe bar.
Made a significant difference to how car felt, turns in much more positively without being too taily. Felt like they could have gone more aggressive on rear bar from factory ( 22mm on this aust spec dc2r ). With upgraded suspension ie coilovers, camber kits and replacing old bushings with quality ones like super pro or hardrace would compliment the stiffer rear sway bar further. At the moment there is no provisions to adj ride height or cambers.
Our dc2r totally stock suspension wise, while rides firmish with strong rebound damping compared to similar coupes and hot hatches of the mid to late 90s, it could definately go stiffer without hurting ride comfort esp when the dampers are well designed.
I plan to install my GC/Koni coilovers from my track eg where they were replaced by the marginally better Tein Monoflex I installed early this year. Will post up my findings of the 10.7kg/7.5kg GC/Koni setup on the dc2r, I expect them to ride even better with the heavier car mass and the longer tail of the dc2 body. The aim is to setup this car to be stiff enough for an occasional track tuning day and autokhana with sufficent cambers and ride high enough to clear speed bump, sloping driveways and not scrape the front factory lip.Proudly no longer a member of any WA based Honda forums.
