silicone mans best friend! pull them out and seal where the joins are and seal where light attaches to body of the car.... some say drill a lil tini hole at bottom of light to let water run out

Yer. well in my lst dc2 i had i used silcone. didnt work. checked it out today. found that the gasket gets old and brittle. And its coming through the gasket into the light and into the boot.. drilled holes in bottem of light in ever section i think 7 in total... Left plastic off to see how it will go.

yep, it's most probably the gaskets.

there's threads on itr-dc2.com which give some good info on finding the problem and fixin it.

i'm looking at replacing the gaskets on mine also, anybody got an idea on where to find the cheapest ones?

ebay like 60 buck's a pair but the thing is in 5 years its gonna go again... Im removing the gasket 2morrow and silicoing the light straight 2 the car... That will 100% fix the problem.

Trick is put sillicone on the light around the lip were gasket was sitting and on the car were it sit's. As it doesn't sit flush so alot of silicone needed... And don't worry u can't see it with light on..

Bought myself a pair of new tail light gaskets and fit them in over the weekend.
                        HTML Code:
                        <a href="http://jdmconcept.com.au/index.php?option=com_jdm&p=detail&cid=240" target=new window>JDM Concept</a>
Pretty quick process. Even drilled in 4 small holes at the back of the tail lights, for good measure. But sadly the water has already done it's damage on the inside. Taillights looking shabby with what looks like mildew?

Any way of cleaning the inside out?
