    TODA header and CEL

    Hey guys,

Tried to search the forum, but couldn't get the answer I wanted.

Have you guys got any issue with check engine light coming up with the Toda header? One guy told me that the CEL comes up due to the carbon build up. This is on a DC5R

but, is it supposed to be like that? cos on my EP3 it seems fine. no probs at all.

    Thx guys

If you fit a Toda header with no catalytic converter to an Australian DC5R you will have a CEL come up. There are various methods to avoid this, the fitment of a catalytic converter being the only road legal choice.

When i was doing my research, alot of dc5S guys (such as myself) had this problem, it was more rarer for a dc5r guy to have one. Anyways, this problem is easily fixed witha defouler/ CEL eliminator.

In a nutshell, what this part does is you screw this into the secondary sensor port, and then screw the actualy secondary sensor into this. it then makes the scanner read less data passing through and wont throw youa CEL!

I have a spare straight CEL eliminator if your itnerested?
