    Why wouldn't a B18R = a B18C7 head?

so you're saying that the head on Harry's car is not stock?

i thought the B18C motor has a B16A head casing but the internals were different....meh....im not sure myself....only learning at this stage.

b18c7 head has already been slight bit ported from factory and other sutff

Head for head the b16a/b and b18c5/6/7 are the same casting,

the reason that a type R head is better and has more power than a stock b16 is

            -its "polished" NOT PORTED..
-valve springs (can handle higher revs than b16)
-valves (have a backcut on the under side of the valve)
            - cams (have higher duration)

there are other niggly things ..

so if harrys head has had a PORT and Polish ...
            and a 3 angle valve job ..
            with jun retainers + springs

and ITR valves ( im guessing, he might have b16 valves)
then really his head is quite a bit more worked than an itr head..
and worth quite a bit more .. depending on who did it =p

              and as for ecu ..

i dont think u will "need" haltech or motec,
(i use the term loosely =p)

s100 will be more than enough for your application..
and unless u r chasing every last KW ..
              i would recommend s100

hey mate...thanks for the replys...makes sense now.

the head has been port and polished and has hadsome machinging with the head and the valves.
the retainers are CROWER and lifters/springs are JUN. the valves are from the B16 head but also have been machined to be lighter. all this is hard for me to explain as i did not order these parts, the previous owner did so i am just telling everyone what i was told or understood. All the work was done by a racing team/company in Malaysia and is a copy of one of their heads.

i was only considering haltech or motec as i was reading up on them now because my job is very boring...lol.
there is someone selling a s100 on here or ozhonda...i will havea chat to them soon.

                thanks, Harry
