    DC5S Questions

hey guys. ive had my dc5s for a while. and holidays are coming up and i want to get a few mods done.

first thing would be the HID KIT. how much would a decent one cost. and is it necessary to take off the front bumper?

second - i have about 300 dollars to spend on the air intake. would cold air be the best choice? ive heard alot about possibility of damage due to rain. the installation of the injen cold air intake, is it time consuming? anything need to be cut?

as you can see im still a nooob when it comes to cars. are there any other low budget bang for buck mods i can do? much appreciated
    thanks in advanced.

HID Kit, i paid 280 or 320 for mine from Mu Secret. Mine has a lfietime warranty on the ballast. Yes, i had 2 take fof my headlights, so i had 2 remove bumper for this!

Inejn CAI, u have to cut a metal thing off the battery support (no biggie) and also cut the passengeder fender. re: rain - I jsut dont full throttle during the rain, and avoid puddles..... No biggie. injen cai will set u back aroudn $450 brand new.... best bang for buck intake.

you still have to get it shipped here, not sure how much that would be but i bet you can get it here cheaper than 450

try to find second hand injens, usually they are in really good condition even as 2nd hand as they are tucked away in the engine bay. Dont worry too much about hydrolocking, its pretty pretty rare to come across it, as long as ur sensible and not driving over half a meter worth of water.

as for parts from clubrsx.com, the shipping is ridiculous for just 1 item, so unless you are buying multiple parts from there dont bother. Do however, look into the clubrsx headers for the rsx, formerly known as the kiddracing headers as they are pretty bang for buck.

                True that!

I only wanted one tiny bottle of touch up paint. Would have cost me $80 in shipping, or combined total. That was overboard!

RE: the ClubRSX Headers, Ask Stevan about these headers! I believe he is running these in his dc5, and he does shit load of research before the purchase of his parts (fukn uni student) and check out his verdict!

The Injen CAI can fit without any cutting, depending on how wide your front rims/tyres are.

what did you do with your test pipe? i had a 200 cel cat welded between mine, im thinking of getting the flange cut and rewelded to tuck the bpipe up a bit more.

my injen was fitted without cutting the metal bracket. stock rims.
splash guard needed to b cut though...

injen is pimp~ sound difference is
                            in terms of hydrolocking..
ive driven over like 3 pretti big puddles (thinking something bad wud happen) but nope.. didnt happen. i just pop it into neutral and let it 'roll' through the puddle. been driving in heavy rain as well.. just b sensible =]
