    VTEC Solenoid

ay guys my vtec solinoid has a bit of an oil leak from it and i just wanna know is it like an o ring or soemthing that would cause that and is it hard to change..i dont really wanna pull the solinoid off and a spring go flying or somethin so any help would be great

theres 2 o-rings for vtec solenoid, the one that is between head/solenoid-plunger body is the most likely culprit.
the other one is between solenoid and plunger body, not sure what they're actually called.

spring won't go flying, they just flop hehe.

is it leaking on the head, or on the solenoid itself?

remove the 3 bolts going into the head, & no springs!

and use hondabond to make a new seal. or buy new seals - very easy to re-install...

it could even be your dizzy o-ring or valve cover gasket?

do you use hondabond on the mating surface?

i leave the gasket in, and run a small bead around the gasket, and smooth it out and make sure i remove any over-spill from the internal orifices prior to re-installation...

sorry - that was not clear from my previous post - my apologies

leaking from under the solenoid onto the head
