Assistance Please... I f*cked up hard...

Guys im almost in tears... knew i should of taken it to a shop to get it fixed up

If you can't tell... i snapped the OEM Strut thread whilst trying to put the OEM Strut back on after i couldn't get the 3 bolts over my shockers (The 3 gold nuts).. Turns out the thread on them is fucked.... Great....

So i have two problems from one part...

Are these replaceable... the thread i snapped (it's not welded to the frame so im assuming it can be but i aint sure...)...
What about the 3 gold threads of the shocker??

    Thanks guys

So the three gold coloured studs are damaged as well as the snapped stud? The one you snapped could be easily drilled out and just replaced with a bolt, you can access the other side easily from the wheel well.

The three studs on the strut top might be able to be knocked out and replaced, but I doubt that Honda will sell them separately so you would have to find something suitable from a fasteners supplier. This will necessitate disassembly of the strut also. You might be best to just get another top mount either second hand or from Honda (I would expect a cost of around $50-100 new though).

Don't feel bad, I nearly snapped some of those studs on my car, and I have been meaning to drill them out and replace them for some time.

Well i rang honda.. They said the Top Mounts (the 3 gold threads) can be replaced seperately.. Just that top part needs to be replaced...
Question.. If ive been meaning to get coilovers, would you say this is a perfect time to upgrade then as i fucked up??
The problem is that, i don't know what coilovers to go as i want to track the car from next year, the car is only a weekender so yeah...

So the Strut Bar (Red Thread I Snapped), Can be replaced yes???

Yes that stud for the strut bar can be replaced, just drill it out, get a bolt the same size and then either glue it or weld it in the same spot from underneath.

I would buy a new top mount and fit it, you will need the stock suspension at some point in the future, and I generally don't put off necessary spending. Particularly when it forces you to rush your decision and purchase of coilovers.

Ahh okay... Well i currently can't drive the car at all as my shocker on my drivers said runs the risk of falling out sigh...
I know but coilovers are a point where ill be saving $$ before making a purchase so if you have a suggestion lemme know...
Would it be worth while to get my dealership to fix the problem i've caused, cause when it comes to this stuff im very bad lol.... I don't wanna make a situation like this much worse if you get me...

How bad are the threads on the strut top? Have you tried a thread file or a running a die over the damaged thread? I would imagine you would be able to repair the thread sufficiently to put the nuts back on there.

You need to buy/beg/borrow/steal one of these :-

Well spoke to a Honda dealership... 300-400 to have the problem fixed (inc fitting and new parts)...
Possibly be cheaper if they fix the threads but highly doubt it as it's all one part i fucked up >.>

Yeah well i couldn't be fucked... lol..
Im from the northern suburbs of melbourne and i would rather take it to a Honda specialist, not just a normal mechanic... surprisingly the total bill for everything (EP3R Sway, Front and rear struts, OEM Strut, a minor service, Re-gassing boot struts and fixing my drivers door)

                          Total = $750..
I think thats pretty good from a dealer

Plus i work hard, do alot of overtime, so im not fussed in what i pay if it's good service..
Mechanics ive been to do what they gotta do & don't give a fuck..
So will see how this dealership compares to where i bought the car from and got it serviced... So tempted to fkn shame this dealership... resisted so far

Why not find a mech who specialises in Honda? Weren't you worried about your warranty and stuff anyway?

Not worried about it because it's being fitted out at another dealership but also my warranty would NOT be voided anyway.. i don't see why it would be lol..

It's only strut and sway bars lol...

I don't think there are any honda speciliasts in the northern side of town and im not wanting to drive to springvale, clayton to have a service etc done... a TUNE yes... not servicing... hell no.. to far man.

Plus i needa get my cared towed atm as i have no license lol..
