Engine warning light.. help identifying the problem/part

Edit: Car is 2004 Integra Type R - completely stock.

Apologies for the vagueness, I just hope someone knows what I'm talking about.. As some of you know, I’m not exactly knowledgeable about what’s under the hood and how shit works. So I’m looking for some information before I speak to my mechanic again..

    Short version:
I had an exhaust flange gasket replaced and they broke something in the process which is giving me a warning light. To me it kind of looked like a Spark plug on a cable but I don’t have an eye for these things. They told me they replaced it but shortly later I got and engine warning light again.

    Extended Version:
I had a worn exhaust flange gasket replaced over the weekend. During the process they broke something that to me looked KIND OF like a spark plug on a cable. They told me they had to replace it but didn’t charge me… I knew at once they had fucked something by the fact there was like 6 of them standing under my car going

So they test drive it with me in car all good, I leave and get to the lights about 200m away and get an engine light, so back I go. Leave it with them for 1hour then come back. They tell me it’s fixed and I decide I don’t trust them so drive around the local area for about 20-30minutes driving hard, driving normal, and just idling for 5minutes. No engine light! Also might be worth noting I think they reset something as the car stereo was reset.

I go home which is about 30mins drive and fine. Wake up next day and get in the car 20minutes later engine light... Well it drove like normal and I had a big day planned that I didn’t want to cancel so I drove it.. It feels like it is running at 100%, but I can’t ignore a warning light.

    Questions:
Does anyone have any idea what they broke? What is its importance (scale 1-10)? Am I wrong to expect them to fix it again after driving it a fair bit(1day 300km)?

im not too sure but maybe the sensor on your exhaust is loose. Since they had to fix your exhaust.
You should be able to go to them and get it checked shouldn't be a problem for them to look at it again
What is its importance (scale 1-10)?
i would say 3, nothin too major

if its throwing a CEL, go to honda n get them to read the error code, and u can go from there to identify the source.

Sounds like they damaged the secondary O2 sensor, or possibly the primary. Most likely the secondary if the car is still running fine. They probably used a generic sensor and hence it doesn't work correctly, I had a similar issue once. Get the code read and go back and complain and insist they use an OEM Honda sensor if that is what the code says.

although keep in mind that getting a code from honda costs around $120 which they will not compensate u for. best to talk to them about it first. OEM honda uses denso sensors if im not wrong. so give that a check and make sure they are not ebay ones, as oem sensors costs a fortune hence most likely they replaced it with something cheap

Most likely they stuffed your primary or secondary sensor o2 sensor. There not cheap to replace with OEM items.

Sure aren't. The cheapest secondary o2 sensor I found was about 300USD. Primary would be more.

primary sensors are $442. no idea about secondary but shouldnt be far off.

just a side note, make sure they get you the audm sensors as jdm ones are different and will throw a cel.

I can get the primary sensors over here in the US for $225USD and The Secondary for $175USD

But yeah if they broke the primary and replaced it with the one it was probably the wrong one. The Primary Sensor has to be specific one.

yup its ridiculous how much more it costs over here in aust. japan only charges 189 AUD for primary sensor. my mechanic tried to find 1 in japan for me but couldnt, so he had to resolve in spending 442 instead.
