    High Flow/Metal Catalytic Converter Advice..

Hi Everyone.. i did search but didnt find a thread about this...

im looking to find myself a High Quality Aftermarket Cat. And well, i dont have any idea where to start!! i know toda and a few other feature modifying companys have Cats avalible but what determins what is the best??

after looking in ebay iv seen they measure them in CPSI or CEL, majority of them being 100CPSI.. but i dont have the slightest clue as to what that's spose to mean..

My current Exhaust is .. 5ZIGEN 4-2-1 Headers, JDM DC2R Cat and a Mugen Twin loop Cat back..

the 5zigens are to be sold soon and Replaced with one of my sets of Toda Headers.. will be conducting test on both sets of headers to see which one i get best power from.. *I have a set of both TODA 4-1 Regular tube Headers and TODA 4-2-1 BIG tube High Output headers..*

was planning on Pairing them up with a Metal Cat of some Sort then Using my Mugen B-Pipe and getting a Custom Strait pipe axle back made up..

But yeah.. Can Sumbody point me in the right direction ?

It's pretty simple, "Cells", deduce the amount of flow the CAT will provide.

The lower the cell count, higher the flow.

You don't want a CAT with a too low cell count, at the same time you don't want a CAT with a restrictive high cell count.

Generally 200 Cells are ideal, and MetalCat provide a good range, in quality and flow.

wait so if u sau the lower the cell count the better the flow? then why would a 200cel be more ideal than a 100 ??

200 cell is most common, 100 cell is probably as useful as running a decat straight pipe emission wise

either way 200, 100 or decat pipe all will not pass emissions test, so naturally decat would be ideal for highest power output if thats what your after

Though I'd be surprised if you actually do have an old set of 2nd hand race headers...

I'll dyno them for you though...
