what rear sway bar and bushing are you using? Whiteline?
i'm using Whiteline rear fixed 22mm sway bar with their given bushing and standard brackets, it's fine.

I just changed my front sway from oem (23.5mm) to TypeS front sway (26.5mm) and the bushing is different in internal size only. The bracket was still the same part number and size. (Wasted $34 just on new brackets). But i wouldn't have known unless i did the swap anyway...

Hey Tofu, just wondering why you increased your front sway size so drastically?

after doing research, American tuners' products are around 27mm fronts and around 22~25mm rear sway bars...and this was before the new model DC5 was released...

then when the new model DC5 came out, they have 26.5mm front sway and 22mm rear sway....so i figured if they did that, i am going to try it...and guess what, I LOVE IT!

the car's rear end felt like it was going to pop out of line mid corner, and i was scared to push it harder or lift off, cuz i felt that if i was to lift off, then i would definately oversteer...but now the more i gas it, the more the car will take, and holds in the corners nicely....btw, i do have Mugen Sport suspension too...

next thing to play with now is my camber/castor/alignment settings...

hm, interesting, at the moment, my car understeers like a bastard mid corner and exit. ( probably too greedy on the gas). turn in is ok. Everything that I have read tells me to increase the rear sway bar and leave the front alone. If anything, to decrease the front bar size or even disconnect it on the track ( this has other side effects too). It should aid in the car's rotation.

I have just purchased a 27mm rear hollow bar but have yet to instal. I think I will try and disconnect the front bar and see how that goes.

Do you track? if so, have you tracked it with your new set up?

nope, i don't really track my car...
and my car is not the TypeR

i took it out into the mountains and it held up nicely...
27mm rear bar, that's some serious stuff...what suspension are you using?

oh, btw i do also have a Spoon rear lower tie bar, front and rear Spoon strut bars.

well the bar is hollow, so its about the same as 24-25mm solid. At the moment I'm on BC N+ with Spoon strut bars ( I really don't think that they do much).

I have had to increase the front sway to an ep3R bar to clear an aftermarket header. so I guestimated to get rid of my understeer I had to increase the rear bar by X amount.

tofu would u know if a spoon lower rear tie bar will clear a cusco rear sway bar?

Atm i got spoon front and rear tower struts.
Cusco rear sway bar and Type S front sway bar.

Also looking at camber/castor kit ( shut up jing !)

"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horse power is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

T: i would have thought to dial out the understeer you would adjust the damper settings rather than buying different sway bars?

i don't know about the cusco rear sway bar clearing the spoon tie bar...

I haven't played with the damper settings on my coils too much as I have had limited time on my new setup with the coils on the track. So far I have soft settings on the front and stiffer settings on the rear. From my understanding, the spring rate and damper settings have more effect on initial turn in than mid corner. Sway bars affect mid corner handling not initial turn in.

well, i feel both are important with initial turn in and mid corner..
but everyone's settings are different because everyone's driving technique and styles are different...
so i guess you have to do what you think is best
