fitting a cat to race headers

im about to purchase some race headers for my type s and i want to know if the 2.5'' test pipe they come with can be interchanged for a catalyst of the same size in order to fit into the stock exhaust?

pending on pricing quotes im either going with the T1r response header or the kidRacing krusher header. they seem to have the same design and the same size test pipe, dont want to risk a fine for running a straight pipe so yeh i need to get this clarified by some of the more informed on this forum before i make a decision.

I have fitted a kiddcrusher header with a short cat in place of the test pipe

Short cat is the best way to go, i think mine was a new Saab part about 15cm total length.
