    VTec Controller on DC5R

    hey guys

anyone tested a Vtec controller on a dc5r? does it make any difference?

    good?

    bad?

    thanks 4 ur input

bad. Why? because i don't personally believe a external device can change the RPM of when vtec kicks in (yo). I'm sure it can't be good for your engine.

The Stock computer does a fine job of controlling V-Tech engagement. If you want a V-Tech controller just buy Hondata or something.

depends which one you are looking at?

Hondata KPro is the best VTEC controller out there... makes a BIG difference

^^ Agreed! I have vafc2 on my K20A. It doesn't help much but more of a bling. I'm so gonna take it out when my Hondata fund is up.

Engine management (ECU) replaces stock computer or can be used as a piggy back depending on what model you get.

i got vtec controller on my dc2 and its kinda pointless.....standard vtec crossover point is perfect...i just change mine to 6000 for a more harsh crossover :P

it depends on what all your other modifications are.

if you have no engine modifications - then the stock engagement point is probably best.

if you have lots of engine modifications, you need to get the engine tuned on a dyno...
