    PRB & PRC throttle body

    New Update:

Hi, I just received my spoon throttle body today. so I would have three tb atm :P
the JDM PRC, AUDM PRB and Spoon.
Not to show off or anything but for your information on choosing the right throttle body for ur own setup.

The spoon throttlebody come with all the sensor: IAVC valve, tps sensor and maps sensor. So for those who broke ur IVAC valve can choose to upgrade ur tb to spoon instead paying same amount to honda for new tb (HONDA didn't sell the IAVC valve separately but as a whole tb). I broke my IAVC valve once and tat's why i know it.

To be honest, I feel pretty disappointed from upgrading JDM PRC TB to Spoon TB. The reason is that the SPOON tb is exactly same as JDM PRC TB. The only different is the inlet is bored to 70mm (stock JDM k20a is 68mm). However, the butterfly and outlet diameter is exactly same 64.5mm. At first i thought the butterfly would be 70mm like skunk2 or bdl, but then I readed somewhere tht it mention the spoon is actually using same casting design as JDM TB but bore out the inlet diameter into 70mm.
Opps, feels sad now. but anyway, c how it go first. might sell the jdm or the spoon and get the skunk2 true 70mm TB in future :P

Will post up some pic tomorrow. camera lacking battery and charging atm :P

Hi guys, since i had a chance to own both PRB & PRC intake manifold & throttle body, i would like to share with you guys. this help those who wanna bigger throttle body but not paying huge $$$ for branded like skunk, spoon, blox......

PRB is used by USDM & AUDM Integra TypeR DC5R.
PRC come from JDM Integra TypeR DC5R

From the intake manifold, I cant tell any different between them. so i'll not show it here as i know nothing.

But for throttle body, the PRC is actually much bigger than PRB. Below shows the diameter of them:
    PRB
    Inlet diameter 64
    outlet diameter 62
    butterfly 62
    PRC
    Inlet diameter 67.8
    outlet diameter 64.5
    butterfly 64.5

From the pic, left-PRB, right-PRC, the wall of PRB is thicker while PRC is thinner. I can fell the lightweight from PRC throttle as well(just my felling). haven't weight them :P

Thus, if u were upgrading ur manifold into PRC or RBC, prefer of using PRC throttlebody as it is bigger. If u got $$$ then go for spoon 70mm!!

Stock: PRC ~ 250-350 with all sensor
        aftermarket without sensor: Spoon ~700-1000, skunk2 ~ 500-700, BDL ~ 500

haven't get the car running yet. it 'broken down' revving by itself. haven't sort out the reason yet. being there for over a month now.

what sensors are needed to install something like Spoon's 70mm TB?

From just looking at the spec, the J's Racing and Spoon's TB don't look much different at all. Has anyone uses these JDM TB on their DC5R that could comment on them?

I'm planning to get RBC or Skunk2 IM so thinking of upgrading the TB at the same time.

              RBC has arrived.

Thinking if i should get an aftermarket TB to go with it. what sensors are needed to install something like Spoon's 70mm TB?

From just looking at the spec, the J's Racing and Spoon's TB don't look much different at all (is there actually any?). Has anyone uses these JDM TB on their DC5R that could comment on them?

couldn't get it run properly yet.
the car wouldn't rev over 4k and thus no vtec

I didn’t want to post a new thread and this is quite relevant to my Q.

would PRC intake manifold bolt straight on to my DC5R??

also would i need to change any sensors or anything i need to keep an eye out for??

cheers guys, nice write up btw very informative
