hmmm i see, i was given the impression that hydrolocking was pretty common with the injen CAI which is why i brought this up after coming across this product.
its pretty hard to hydrolock a cars motor, like the other members have said the whole front end would need to be submerged & even then the engine to be running which it most likely wont becuase its intake supply has been cut off!

even a SMALL droplet of water once compressed inside and ENGINE *can* damage it.
water is much harder to compress than air, and thus once a small amount gets into the combustion chamber, as the piston pushes up it tries to compress an uncompressable thing and bends the rods...

not hard to hydrolock at all...there was a member on here a few years ago hydrolocked his car even with a SRI and his car was far from submerging the whole front end.

So when a head gasket begins to leak coolant/water in a combustion chamber slowly slowly why doesnt the engine hyrdolock then??? when it rains and water splashes onto a low mounted filter and water particles are passed through an intake system and into an engine why doesnt the motor hydrolock then??
Dnt sit here and call me a noob when clearly you havent thought your own post through well enough, heres another one for you, its gonna take more than a few drops of water to hyrdolock an engine, thats if the water even makes it up the intake pipe,through the throttle body, past the butterfly,past the steped intake manifold, I mean Farkkk its gonna take alot to hydrolock an engine, and even then depending on the actuall engine there is a clearance between the top of the piston & bottom of the cylinder head, oh not to mention a Huge Fkin explosion called combustion so dnt sit there and feed me crap that 1 drop is gonna stuff up an engine.
I think from now on i might just do the listening part & chuck in a bit of laughter becuase this seems to be turning into an argument about weather the OP will buy an intake sheild or not, the fact that you mentioned something about selling them also is putting me off discussing this with you.
If i want to learn something ill ask the rite people my questions or do the research myself, the difference here is that i actually know something about the topic at hand as ive had experiance with it in the past. so ill leave it at that.
we spray the fuck out of throttle bodys everyday with carby cleaner and they havnt hydro locked.... and a droplet wont hydro it lol take a lot more then a droplet to hydro anything...
