Xose, I am in melb and had my cwest cf bonnet on my dc5r for about a year now, no problem with the police at all even when i got pulled over for alcohol test.

What colour is your car though? Guys with lighter colour cars can't get away with exotic bonnets as easily.

No. Cops pick on the fact that they disintegrate on impact and the vast majority aren't ADR approved.

pretty much, they shatter instead of crumble so its not "safe" what a lame excuse.

and going to the pits is a btch so...

as i know, most carbon fibre bonnet on the market (carbon fibre on top with FRP bucket) will not get trouble from cops, at least, its never happened on me

if you just looking for light weight, better respray it back to car factory color, definitely help you stand away from cops and thief

As far as i know pretty much, none of the cabron fibre bonnets passed the ADR standard. In the event of collision, the carbon fibre become lots of sharp edges and can cause serious harm to pedestrian, not to mention that it minimize the effect of the ability of energy absorption by the front crumple zone..

this is probably why they are not ADR approved.

whats the difference between an aftermarket carbon fibre bonnet and the swag of new age sportscars designed from the factory with carbon fibre bonnets, front bumpers, mirrors, doors etc? does the carbon fibre on these cars not disintegrate and pose safety issues as well?
                          almost JDM spec, y0!

I want put this in my car because i want lose weight and the color of my car is plate. It looks awesome with the carbon bonnet. In short, the bonnet can't be ADR approved, right?

the difference would be OEM ones have been crash tested while aftermarket ones are unlikely to have any test performed at all.
