    CEL lights up when coasting

    Hi Guys,

After a recent trackday my DC2R occasionally lights up the Check Engine Light (CEL) when it's coasting. It usually occurs when I give the car some gas then coast. IE. accelerating away from a light quickly then foot off the accelerator.

Oh yeah the CEL goes away when I blip the throttle. Sometimes when the CEL is on, the engine will idle erratically, nothing hectic but you will see revs rise and rall a few rpms.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

The car has a PowerFC tuned by TODA and I/H/E. I read it could be the oxygen sensor..

I will have the CEL looked at by Adrian, just wondering it it may be..

    look at the CEL yourself,

proceedure is on page 11-32 of the factory manual...

then tell us what code it tells you and we can work it out from there...

Damn, I need a hand controller. I will refrain from driving until I can get Adrian to look at it :/

          Cheers

              Hey Dave,

No worries mate. You've helped plenty of other times.

Okay, took the car into TODA yesterday. PowerFC gave out an a tp switch error. Adrian was very thorough in exploring all possible causes of the error and in the end it was a fcked TPS.

Swapped mine out CEL pissed off and hasn't been seen since.

                good to hear

had very similar problem with my dc2r after wakefield trackday bring tps code, ended up being throttle body issue.... wierd but was a good excuse to upgrade lol

Ok got an issue I think is TPS but not sure -- No CEL but hesitates at 3000rpm, splutters. Leans out (talking 10-25% throttle really) then gets it back together and kinda 'jumps' in the RPM & runs fine above 3000rpm or at heavy throttle application. Also seems to at its worst when engine is cold, once up to temp not so much an issue..

Not getting a CEL -- Datalogging should show if the TPS is 'sticking' yeah? Any ideas?
