Help pinging noise?

When i step on the pedal lightly from a standstill i get this metal rattling noise coming from the engine bay area.
The noise occurs only when the car is moving and happen around 2000rpm.
i took it to the dealer today and after replicating the noise, the young mechanic said it the engine is pinging. He ask me what fuel i was using, i said Optimax.
He said dont use that, try something else?, Optimax is 98octane . He also told me to drive harder and recommended me to shift above 3k rpm at all times??.

I use Mobil 10-30w syth Motor Oil.
Only mods i have on the car is KPRO ECU.
Is the KPRO causing the problem?
Anyone else can confirm it is a ping issue and how to resolve it?

Who tuned the KPRO? and it may be hard to tell whether a car is pinging or not if you havent heard it before. But it sounds like a shower of marbles.

anyone got a sound file of a ping noise when you're running lower octane petrol?

I had the same problem with my car pinging with my kpro....Ended up running it on 100 octane fuel until I got it retuned and the problem went away

Who tuned your Kpro as others have said?

Yeah agreed you have a tuning issue, either rip it out or run an octane booster untill you get it properly tuned.

I got it tuned by BLKCRX, i was one of the guinea pigs of KPRO.

My car was one of the first in aus with a kpro as well....or so i thought but thats another story. There are a few of us up in queensland with some big problems with our tunes after james tuned our cars....

We have all tried...yes.

I hope you have some luck getting your issue sorted. The optimax extreme will help your problem though until it is retuned.

He did because he had to sort a few other issues as well which i will not go into on here...

OK am a novice with cars. So this is a noob question.
I intend to stop using 98optimax and switch to 100ron optimax extreme + octane booster.
When my petrol gets nearly empty, i want to drain the rest of the old petrol out.
How do you drain all ur old petrol out of the car?
