      Wheel and tyre size !

Hey guys just wondering if 17X9 +38 with 245/45/17 tyres fit a stock DC5. No rolling guards not lowered.

      Cheers

No it will not fit. You will definately hit the rear trailing arm. And those tyres are quite big for a dc5. Your speedo will read slower than what youre actually going. That is when your speedo is reading 100km/hr youre probably doing 105km/hr. Just something you should keep in mind when choosing your tyre size too

You will need at least another -8mm on
Your effective offset to effectively clear trailing arm, and definitely not on those tires. Will still
Scrub with load at back. Front will be fine however

Ohh dam.. What do you guys think with 17X8 +35 Rear and 17X9 +38 Fronts with 245/45/17. No camber, no rolled guards and not lowered.

              1. Will it scrub ?
              2. Any speedo differences ?

Go with 17x9 in an offset lower than 30 for the rears and get camber arms. Fronts should be fine although you will have mighty mexi poke

The wheels will fit. A 245/45R17 is really too big a tyre though, un-roadworthy in Victoria and will affect your speedometer accuracy enough to matter. Get different tyres and those wheels will fit okay, though I'm not a fan of staggered wheels for street use.

                    Hi everyone
Not sure if anyones covered this
But im wondering how low an offset is too low for the dc5? Im looking at 17x9s with -4 offset so super poke. 235/45 is currently on it now and im thinking that's a bit too big. If they can fit ill be looking at 225 or 215/40s. The car is pretty much on the bottom of the tein ss coilovers so dont know what mods need to be done. Hopefully only rolling guards but any insight would be great!

                        Why not 215/40 man?
And just out of curiosity can -3 be achieved without mods? Im guessing not

To get -3 camber you will need adjustable rear camber kit, front camber bolts and Todd's modified tie rods to give you -3 camber. The modified toe rods help to achieve 0 toe unless you want to run toe in/out

stretching a 215/45 on a 9jj wheel will already reduce the typre profile/side wall, imagine using a small size profile...

                              Mmm true
Id imagine it would be quite reduced
Would it be an issue to stretch a 40 profile??
                              Probably too small

Not an issue to stretch it on a 40 profile. Make sure the tyres are newish though
