    Tips & advice for buying a DC2R

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyones got any tips or advice for me, cause I'm going to inspect a few DC2R's in the coming weeks.

What do I look for in a good buy? Engine wise.

    Thanks guys

Hopefully I'll be enjoying some soon!

This has been covered bulk before.. But regular servicing, crash history, general condition of the car, just inspect as you would any other car really..

when you get the owner to rev it out in 3rd gear to 8500rpm, make sure it feels smooth and even all the way... no hicupps or stutters...

make sure the engine temp is warm when doing this test.

keep a watch out for smoke from the tail.

during this sort of test the car should feel planted to the ground, and very sturdy. like it is on rails.

once the 8500 is hit, feel how it is under brakes, should be very progressive and no squirming.

      HTH.

Better be on a closed circuit racetrack actually. Unless the owner doesn't mind a licence suspension...

3rd gear at the rev limiter is ~140kph...

oh, yeah, i meant to mention that you need to do it at Eastern Creek or Oran Park... silly me...

or you could hire an airstrip out bankstown way and try the test in 4th or 5th.

it it makes it to 8500rpm in 5th, BUY IT!!!
