why on earth would you pay a ludicrous amount of money for a jdm hi flow cat instead of just getting a generic or custom one that flows nearly as much for so much cheaper.

locally made high flow JDM length cat is 550... SARD cat from Japan is $866 delivered.

        so much cheaper?

lol where did you get 550 from.
I picked mine up for about $250 and works damn well.

And still there is a big difference between 550 and $860 delivered.

            1) if you can get the jdm one signifficantly cheaper than RRP (like i did )
            2) if youre a jdm-brand-name-fetishist like me
            3) if there arent any custom-welding shops that you know that do really high quality work..

                  Think about it.
                  What is so different......

Both have a honeycomb design that is obviously a higher flow than a stock cat.
Even if there where to be a difference i would imagine it would be very miniscule if any difference.

Dont believe everything that ppl tell you....of course ppl with a metalcat are gonna say oh yeah my cat flows better and makes more power....thats because they spent a ludicrous amount of money on it.

My cat was bought from a exhaust shop in brisbane that makes up exhausts for a lot of racecars down here in brisbane. Does very good work and reputable. Even he told me that its not worth paying the extra cash to get what an extra 1hp especially from a n/a 4 cylinder.

Power is had at diminishing returns. Once you reach a certain limit... if I was serious, i'd pay massive amounts for that 1hp.

would there be much difference between a oem JDM cat and metalcat or other custom honeycomb cat made here?

between a metalcat and any other custom honeycomb hi flow cat......i dont think there would me any difference and if there was it would be miniscule.

A oem jdm cat would not be as good because they still need to meet emmissions etc so im guessing wouldnt flow as much.

Whos emission are you talking about Jap Emissions or Aus Emissions.
Either way im pretty sure most aftermarket cats will not meet emissions in either Aus or JDM Land.
