seeing as goodridge lines don't have a coating to protect the braid, did anyone bother?

well hel seems to come with it(maybe its an option?)
the idea it to stop things working its way under the braid and eventually eating through the brake line

i'm just going to use glue lined heatshrink and whack on 2-3 layers to try and protect it as much as i can
just wondering what other methods people have tried/are using to protect the lines further
