When the water temp needle is almost halfway between H and C - you can VTEC.
Is that your excuse for STILL not having Defis?

i believe that water temp needs to reach 60degrees for vtec to engage

        well
considering the engine had done 190 000kms,

im not really expecting the vtec to still be working.

umm should i get a replacement vtec solenoid?

i think you're jumping the gun a bit there.

take it to a mechanic if you don't know what you're looking for.

              Um no.

I use Motul Chrono 300V. Other guys here use Royal Purple, ELF, etc.

Get anyone here to drive it or take it to a Honda dealer. Really, on a DC2 the engagement is very aggressive. You can feel and hear it easily.

yeh, gonna change fresh oil and inspect the vtec solenoid.

with 190 000km and previous owner being a P plater, im not expecting it to still be alive,

just hoping i guess, gonna do an engine swap though, after ive saved up enough.

either JDM B18C7 or AUDM B18C7

your going to do an engine swap cause vtec isnt working? lmao

it will be something fairly simple why your vtec may not be working, either way ill buy your b18c for $1000 then lol

                              hey man, this is madness!!

my my thermo died a little bit ago, and as it went cold as it did randomly, vtec did not engage. a soon as it goes above the start of the gauge it works, but if it is below it will not work, it doesnt have to be fully warmed up to work mate, just drive it around the block or whatever then see if it works....

haha ill take your word on that. Engine and everything runs him, just doesnt seem to be hitting vtec, still pulls quite hard though.
