    Boomerang car alarm

I didn't kno whether to put this in lounge or here... anyway

Does anyone know if boomerang car alarms are still available?

My car already had his installed when i purchased it, anyway, the other day the negative battery terminal (the coil one) in the remote broke off , mainly due to the fact that the battery kept on falling out cause the battery cover was gone.

i've tried ringing afew car audio places, and googling but no luck.

I would like to try and keep this alarm as it is a good alarm, with lcd screen, pager etc. n i dont wanna get a new alarm jus cause my remote is stuffed.

    someone help

with these car alarms, if you try to remotely start it, does the mechanism engage when your car is in gear ? sometimes i leave my car in gear, and i dont remmeber if i do or not. just scared if i remote start the bugger and it'll smash the car infront of me..

The one's I know of you have to leave it out of gear. Try to keep it on topic.

I'd be trying to solder it back together. Have you tried calling other alarm manufacturers to see whether they have any solutions?

The Boomerang 2000 series should have 2 alarm FOBs, the LCD one which takes alot of battery usage and the black one with no fancy features.

You might have eventually bought one of my old cars that had the Boomerang 2000, is this a white DC2R? LoL ... If it is, I know where the other FOB is and don't worry, nobody will steal your car.

Doesn't matter anyway, the calibration of the FOBs need to be done with the special sequence in-car. The good thing about this alarm is, there aren't many people who have it. The bad thing though, you can't find parts or replacement components. BTW, this is a Korean product.

Noel, do you know of any reputable car audio places in sydney that deal with boomerang?

I am from newcastle and dont really wanna have to have a stab in the dark at who is goin to play around with my alarm.

                      Thanks for your help

its not a very secure alarm... you should look at getting another if possible...

just get a detachable steering wheel and put a lock on your recaros and rims.

Steve, I'd love to help you ... My installer closed shop and went overseas to pursue his dreams. But the general note is, if they sell it, they can install it or at least know how to. It's alot of wiring but not ultimately complex.

Stock, would you like to elaborate as to what you mean?
