    Engine Mount Breaking??(DC2R)

    hey.
i just noticed whenever i let my foot off the clutch.. about halfway.. i can hear a knocking sound, a few people told me that it's my engine mounts on the verge of going... although i dont know which mount it is.. but im thinking if im going to replace one i may aswell do them all now rather than wait for them all to go. just wanted to make sure that this sound is appropriate for a engine mount to be about to go.

    any ideas/help is much appreciated.

i have the exact same problem and it is my rear engine mount. Change it asap because it will start to tear the other engine mount on the passenger side just like it has done to me

Sounds like engine mount like how mine sounds like atm. Normally the rear mount is the first to go. I got a spare rear mount somewhere if you're interested

You asked me about this on MSN, but described it as the "clutch clicking" which is a totally different thing...

Is this a new problem or what you talked to me about??

Does it make the noise when the car is not running?

I'm pretty sure we've talked about all this and decided that it was just the classic DC2R clutch pedal "click"....

no only when the car is in motion.. but doesn't happen on the higher gears...e.g happens in reverse, 1-2-3. after that the engine's rev's too high for me to hear it anyway.
if it is the "classic dc2R clutch pedal click" how come this is the first time i've ever heard it since getting the car?

                try this

Start the car , leave in neutral , jump out and open your bonnet.
Face the engine while it idles , and then either get a friend to punch the accelerator pedal OR pull the cable with your finger on the throttle body. the engine will rev , and slightly pitch back and forward. it should move slightly say a few cms wither way. But any more is excess and points to worn or broken REAR or FRONT LOWER torque mounts.
You may even hear the noise you described before.
If so replace the offending mounts and get on with life.

I've been in a few DC2R's which have a "click" as you depress the clutch pedal. It's something to do with the linkages in the pedal itself I think. Mine went away for no apparent reason and has never come back since!

                        Oh that!

I think its the clutch engaging!

Before I changed my clutch it never did it! Now just before friction point (when its about to grab) I hear/feel a very minor clunk/click.
