DC5 HEADLIGHT - need help ovening my head light

    Hi Fellow ITR's

my head light seal must be broken. my RHS headlight is FOGGED up with water. I heard from people you can oven it and take the head light apart to reseal it..

If possible can i have some instructions so i can attempt on doing this in my spare time.

important info such as: how hot should i set the oven, anything i should be careful of and also do i use anything to reseal the head light???

    thanks for your time guys

tbh it's not an easy task.

i did it once to the parkers/indicators of an Mx5 and i swear i'll never do it again.

i think i put the oven to about 150 degrees and you should keep checking every few minuates. the biggest worry is cracking the clear plastic bits.

what i did is put it in like 5 minuates, take it out and have a look, if its still hard then put it back in and repeat. also you only have a small window to crack the seal. you may have to keep trying.

to reseal, just put both pieces in the oven to heat them up a little and put them back together. that's the easy bit really.

Turn the oven on, set it to 200. leave the oven on for 5 mins.

Turn the oven OFF and then put the headlights in till the glue softens up.

Remember to wrap your headlight in a towel and keep all plastics covered and clear of the oven's elements.

Be sure to use an old butter knife and a firm but cushioned surface to pry your headlight open too.

Goodluck. Let us know how u go

just use a heatgun to heat up the silicone/seal
