    Buddy Club headers + K20

    Club ITR,

Has anyone on here used Buddy Club headers? Im considering these or the Toda's. Alot more people seem to be using Toda's!

46AZM and I got our cars tuned at the same time and compared the Dyno results. I had the toda headers and toda exhaust, he had the mugen exhaust and buddy club headers. We both had the same intake.

Same day on the same dyno, my car made 138.2kw atw and his made 133kw atw. The difference was, mine had more torque up top of the rev range from memory and of course more power but this could have been because of the exhaust....

no two cars are the same.

adam your car was punching out 138kw when it was tuned previously with just buddyclub catback and k&n typhoon SRI and no headers as well. different day, different dyno though.

edit: sorry my point was... i think you have an engine that punches out a few more kws than average.

I reckon a fairer comparison would be same car with the manifolds tested back to back same day in shootout mode.

In a sense yes, but i dont believe that original power figure of 138kw was accurate. After having the car tuned the last time, there was a marked increase in power, albeit a reduction in overall driveability due to the "tuner".

hell, i think a fairer comparison would be to test exiting airflow through both headers using a variable inlet airflow apparatus designed to nasa standards.

i can't find my dyno sheet to post but i found that the bch has a noticable difference in early and midrange torque and mid range power over the toda and this is the area that i drive the car most. However in my case the downside was that i lost top end power due to the mugen exhaust.

With a better more flowing exhaust i have no doubts that top end would dramatically increase. I can't give numbers or anything but i would expect around 138-140.

Fit and finish is excellent as is the sound it makes as is the price.

At the end of the day i feel the difference between the toda and bch is in the mid range power and torque. imo if installed in a similar aplication to me- i.e to a car that has only mild mods i would again purchase the bch but i'd get a better exhaust to make the most of the header.

                    cheers

did u end up choppin ur exhaust manifold to weld the cat on to? or did u end up chopping the b pipe and gettin the cat welded to it?
