    Review: Spoon Engine Mounts

As some of you know i have had extensive problems with my engine mounts and have decided to stop with the quick fix options.

I have ordered a set of Spoon engine mounts and should be getting them installed early next week with my fluids.

Ben from touge tune recommended them after seeing the mounts I had replaced were generic rather than Honda

Hopefully the excessive movement will be stopped!

Will let you guys know how it goes!

The mount itself is and the insert is stiffer. Mugen are the same. Innovative are a complete replacement and are available in billet alloy and steel with 4 different stiffnesses.

          This is true.

Mugen (which are discontinued for the DC2 I was informed) and Spoon use the same 5 mount layout however adopt a stiffer rubber compound.

I believe innovative are a 3 piece solid set.

Whats the point in writing a topic on a title with makes it sound like you have tried the product out only for the thread to be about a review you plan on doing ?

Why not just wait for them to be installed try em out and THEN write the review.

It's annoying to expect to read a review only to find that hey you haven't review it yet (2nd one of your threads too.)

                Such stupid threads lately.

Well it seems to have quite a bit of interest.

Besides I have already paid the money - Im getting them installed.

At least there will be a review to read to inform others of their experiences with the products out there.

I have read many - Just wanting to give people the same courtesy.

Don't think your following, just post the review when u have a review to post.

Think about it if someone where to search for spoon mounts and wanted to read a review on it, would they find a review at the top of this post ?

Well last night Ben from Touge Tune toiled till all hours of the morning changing my engine mounts. You can instantly see the siffness of these mounts when trying to align the engine - the old mounts could be moved easily however the new mounts required alot more man power to move.

As soon as you hop in and start the car for the first time you feel instantly the increase in vibration. Its not over the top - but Im glad I chose the Spoon over the solid mounts. (Any more than this for a daily would be too much - but thats just me)

It has made the car sound louder and more engaging which I like.

It just feels that your more in contact with the engine. Say.. Engine feel? Hard to explain.

When reving the engine - there is slim to none movement in the engine bay as opposed to before when the engine used to rock back and forth.

When driving there is minimal engine movement and gear changes are more solid.

There is less play in the engine so there is increased clutch feel.

I can not say that there is one definate area which has improved dramatically - its more of an all rounder thing - the car just seems more alive.

Steering, throttle response, pedal communication - everything has improved.

Would definately recommend the spoon mounts for a daily drive for those who just want that little bit more confidence and support for their engine/gearbox/drivetrain.
