myself and 00dc2 were invited by our friends at sasupra for a dyno day last weekend. we were keen to see what power difference (if any) there was between 00dc2's stock dc2r and mine. the runs were done back-to-back at morpowa garage.
the stock dc2r managed a best of 108.5kw @ wheels on this particular dyno dynamics system (mic's stock dc2r is known to be a good example with previous dyno results 1-2kw over another stock R).
my car's engine setup: stock intake, maximworks (M-bit) 4-2-1 exh mani, '98 jdm dc2r cat.converter, fujitsubo powergetter exhaust, mugen n1 ecu.
my car managed 118.0kw @ wheels.
00dc2 has both of our dyno sheets and will be posting them up here soon.
i am quite happy with the result.
it seems the mugen n1 ecu maintains a more linear air:fuel ratio in the higher rpm range where the stock ecu richens the mixture for an extra safety margin.
also the mugen ecu's power curve is steeper in the mid-range most notably, which is also felt in-car accelerating.
i have been wondering whether changing the cat to a sports type, and a mugen intake would make any signifficant further gains throughout the rpm band? ahh but so much $$ to spend..and i'd like a new clutch&fly, and some nice wheels..*daydreams*
