hey guys bit of a noob question but i actually have no idea what is involved/is/what happens in lowering final drive. Any info would be great cheers

Gear ratio's and final drive are a differant thing.
A gear ratio (in first gear) of lets say 2.31:1 means that the engine turns 2.31 times for the driveshaft to turn once. With a 4.9 Final Drive, this will mean that every 4.9 turns of the driveshaft, the diff will turn once (directly connected to the wheels)
