    Suspected blown clutch.

    G'day fellas.

    I was driving to uni this morning very steadily in second, and it popped out of gear - and woudnt go back into Any gear.


    I pulled to the side of the road, and after about 1 minute got it into 2nd, and that was it. It doesnt catch with 4th or 1st at all. I can just barely (after alot of rev matching) get it into gear at all.

    ATM its down at pro-concept - and im waiting on the prognosis

    They're going to drain the gearbox fluid and i pray theres no suprises floating around

    common problem with the P1 Racing rims, especially the black ones - they are known to blow clutches all the time...

        yep, white is fine!

        it also relates to your tyre choice, Sumitomo's or other cheap tyres also contribute to the problem...

                never heard of that before!

                What do you mean blown clutch? Like the pressure plate or springs are smashed or what?

                I dont see how rims can blow a clutch;

                unless due to hard driving, the increase in traction puts more pressure on the drive train - causing the clutch to fail.

                That happened in my old car. Except the diff went bang! Not the clutch. lol..

                  Never had that happen before but hope it's only the clutch that needs replacing. Did the clutch pedal feel any different? Mushy/no feel at all?

                              Drained the box oil, no shards of goodies in there

                              Umm, proconcept boys are taking out the box and clutch - coudnt see anything visible with the clutch from the outside =\
