Normal reading for oil temp n water temp

Hey guys, what is the normal reading for the oil and water temp? I just installed defi gauges in my dc2r and i wanted to be sure that it is working properly.

    Thanks for the advice.

No way. That's way too cold, especially water. What gauges are you using?

I did a few vtec runs and ended up with a water temp of 100 and an oil temp of 80 on my defi. A little worried as my water temp is very near boiling point after 2 or 3 vtec runs of short distance.

Are you just running water in your radiator? It's very common for radiator fluid temps to get up to 100c. The difference being that other coolants don't boil at the same temperature as water. Oil temp can get up to 130c on B and K series motors on hard track days.

Water 100? thats abit high there. Are you running oil cooler?

I think you have may install the gauges incorrectly, check your earth points and sensors.

As i said before, if you don't have a aftermarket oil cooler, oil should be stable between 80-90 for streets. DC2R has a standard "oil cooler" where coolant is bypass to cool the oil down.

If your cooling system is in perfect working order, then i can't see why if would reach 100? should somewhere be around 80-90ish.

my dc2r will hit 100 sitting at lights then the thermo fans kick in and goes back down just below 90, driving never goes over 90 even in 35degrees qld heat, average is 85

mt mechanic installed the gauges not me....i am just checking if he installed the gauges correctly because the oil temp is rather low.I can drive from the city to clayton and my oil temp is only 70. water temp is 80 to 90. I look at the stock temp gauge in the car, its only like 1/4 up. That y i m worried.

                    With normal driving:

Stock thermostat and fan switch my Water temps were between 90-100 and very simular readings with oil as well.

My water sensor is installed before the radiator at its hottest.
Oil was installed in a sandwhich plate as the oil is picked up from the sump.

Now with my cooler thermostat and fanswitch it sits between 80-85.

                      Stock:

                      Oil: 85 - 90~
                      water: 85-90~

Honda's run hot, it's just a known fact.

If you want to lower the temp's for track purpose, do what N1 race car do and install lower temp thermostat, and thermoswitch - also an oil cooler. This will see your temps drop 5-10 degrees.

If you want more, bigger radiator.
