Windshield Washer Pump

I'm getting really sick of people tailgating me, I'm more so worried about them hitting me more than anything else. I just cant stand to see anyone hit my car.

So I was thinking of upgrading the windshield washer pump to a highpressure one or getting a separate system altogether for the rear.

Has anyone played with this idea before ?

or ahve any suggestions on where to get the most powerful washer pump.

It seemed like a good idea to me, that rear washer nozzle has to be good for something.

This reminds me of being 17, turning the two nozzles on the bonnet sideways to squirt people on footpath/traffic lights etc.

You may be able to wire another pump in parallel with the original one.

Do you have 2 pumps in the resevoir? 1 for front, 1 for back?

the proximity of the person behind is often a function of the space in front of your own car...

try modifying this to see if it works in your area, before resorting to illegal activities...

I reckon the squirt of water would most likely induce road rage.

Eventually you'll need to stop at the lights and if they catch up with a mag light.

when people tail gate me i
a> ignore them if i cant change lanes or if i'm on a street where i have seen cops with laser guns
b> floor it if the street is appropriate (ie going up a very steep hill)
c> change lanes

i go with c most often... but then again Adelaide may have many more "asleep" at the wheel drivers.. but not so many "crazy mofo tailgaters" than sydney i imagine

Bad idea, if you spray the water and block the car vision, anything can happen to them.

I agree with fueltank, if the person is tailgaiting you because you're 'slowing' them up, then its only likely to enrage them. Alternatively, if they are just oblivious to their tailgaiting you, which I think is more often the case, then you're unlikely to have any effect.
